Blair was raised in a little northern Ontario town called Elliot Lake. In 1980 he ventured out to Saskatchewan to attend Millar Bible College in Pambrun. The prairie landscape, blue skies, and friendly people left a lasting impression on him as a young man. In 1988 he received his certification in the Piano Technology Program at the renowned George Brown College in Toronto. Throughout his career as a Piano Technician, Blair has been fortunate enough to tune for such notables as Elmer Iseler, Hagood Hardy, The Canadian Ballet Company, Frank Mills, Johnny Cash, Barenaked Ladies, and Megan Nash. He continues to operate his piano tuning and repair business and volunteers his services to the annual Moose Jaw Music Festival.

Blair became interested in funeral service and graduated from Humber College in Toronto in 1997. He gained a wealth of experience working in several funeral homes throughout southern Ontario. In May of 2007 he was offered the Management position at Parkview Funeral Home in Moose Jaw and was thrilled to return to the land that had left an imprint on him in his early years. In February of 2009, Blair and his wife Kelly purchased the funeral home and had the pleasure of operating their own business, pouring their hearts into their community, serving local families and walking with them through their time of need. Blair and Kelly decided to sell the funeral home to another local company in 2018, and Blair joined the team at Speers in 2020. He is honoured to be a part of a locally owned business that cares about the families in the community. Blair’s compassion and sincerity shines through in his work.

Blair and his wife Kelly have five adult children and are still waiting for a grandchild to come along! They enjoy spending time together at their home in Moose Jaw. They also love to take road trips to check out the beautiful Saskatchewan dark skies with the telescope whenever they can.
