Obituary of Kirk William Molder
Kirk William Molder was born in Lajord Saskatchewan on December 4 1938, to parents William Molder and Sadie Molder (nee Peters). His family moved all over Saskatchewan following his father’s teaching placements. In 1958 he married Gwennith Myrfield, together they had 5 children. Kirk followed his father’s path with a career as a teacher. He was the principal and vice principal of many schools in Regina before retiring at age 54. Kirk always liked building structures with wood. One of his favorite projects was, as a family, disassembling the train station at Benson Saskatchewan. He then built the family cottage at White Bear Lake in the Moose Mountain Hills of Southeast Saskatchewan using the salvaged lumber. During his retirement he made extra income building fences and decks. After all the kids left home, he and Gwen moved to Wolseley, Saskatchewan where he became active in the local writers group and the Wolseley Players theatre group. Kirk moved back to Regina after Gwennith passed away in May of 2019.
